Hey lovers! Just in time for V-day (but really who needs an excuse for a libido, mood and energy enhancing chocolate recipe?!) I have conjured up two magical chocolate bark recipes for you.
Two years ago, my keto-fudge sex bombs were an absolute hit…(click the link if you haven’t tried them!) so I thought it was high time I shared another aphrodisiac creation or two with you. Same same, but different.
What I really love about these barks is that they are super simple to make and set pretty quickly (especially if poured into a thin layer), so that if you’re impatient like me, you won’t have to wait very long to enjoy their deliciousness! 🙂
I’ve done two different versions: one keto and one vegan. There’s something for everyone and they’re both really tasty! I tried to keep the ingredients as minimal and accessible as possible, coz some of these superfood health recipes can really add up! No need to go broke just to feel good!
The superfood, maca, which is in both barks, is where most of the libido/energy boosting magic comes from, but you can of course omit this if you can’t get hold of it. Cacao on its own is still a wonderful mood enhancing superfood – rich in magnesium and antioxidants. There’s a reason the Myans named it the “food of Gods”.
Ok enough bla-bla, I’ll cut straight to the recipes which I know you’re dying to make!
Sexy Keto Choc-Coconut Bark
This is super rich, dark and decadent… A little goes a long way. The great news is that if you’re using stevia to sweeten, it won’t spike your blood sugar… only other things. Hint hint.
- 1/4 cup coconut oil – melted
- 1/4 cup ghee – melted (can sub for more coconut oil or coconut butter to make vegan)
- 1 cup cacao powder
- 1 tbsp maca
- 4 tsp ashwaganda powder – great for stress (coz stress is very unsexy!)
- 5-10 drops of liquid stevia (or to taste) OR 1/4 cup raw honey/maple syrup or xylitol syrup WON’T BE KETO anymore though!
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract or vanilla powder
- two handfuls of toasted coconut flakes
Mix all ingredients, except the coconut flakes, together in a bowl until well combined. Taste for sweetness. Then add the toasted coconut flakes. Pour into a shallow glass dish and place in freezer for about 30 minutes or until completely set. Once set, carefully cut into bite-sized chunks. Store in the fridge for up to a month.
Sexy Vegan Goji Bark
The caramel taste from the coconut blossom sugar and the malty maca flavour come out quite strong with these babies, which I totally love! The goji berries add a nice texture, as well as being known to enhance the libido. You’ll struggle to stop at one piece!
- 1/2 cup cacao butter
- 1/2 cup coconut blossom sugar
- 1/4 cup cacao powder
- 2 tbsp maca
- 1 tsp vanilla extract or powder
- dash of cinnamon
- crack of Himalayan salt
- small handful of dried goji berries
In a double boiler, gently melt the cacao butter and coconut blossom sugar. Once they’ve melted, remove from heat and stir in all the other ingredients. I like to use a whisk to remove any lumps. Then pour the mixture into a shallow glass dish or tupperware and place in freezer for about 30 minutes, or until completely set. Then cut or break into bite-szied pieces.
I hope you enjoy these decadent, sexy chocolate bark recipes! Let me know if you make them!
xoxo
